Sketch Guidance Notes
- The width and depth of room measurements must be clearly identified by arrows indicating
their directions on the sketch.
- In order to ensure that width and depth, room and gap measurements are recorded correctly, identifying a fixed orientation point (e.g. hallway or landing) will assist when moving around
the property.
- Please refer to and use the symbols on our key sheet when identifying features to be
included on the sketch.
- Stairs should have clear indication with up or down arrows.
- Doors should show the opening direction.
- The depth of fitted units (e.g. wardrobes) should be recorded to avoid discrepancies in room
sizes.
- For unusual shaped rooms please record additional width and depth measurements with arrows
to the relevant walls.
- Ensure dimensions are taken for any gaps between rooms (e.g. hallways or landings) to enable
the total perimeter wall lengths to be calculated.
